Job summary

Summit Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Processor 1 to support the mortgage loan process from application through closing. You will work with underwriters and Mortgage Loan Officers, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely loan completion while delivering a high-quality member experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; real estate, lending coursework preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain NMLS registration.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a mortgage lending environment.
• Knowledge of mortgage laws and regulations.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate, detail-oriented work.
• Intermediate mathematical skills including decimals, percentages, and fractions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to problem-solve, investigate issues, and follow up with members and colleagues.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support mortgage loan processing or closing activities, including documentation, verifications, and file preparation.
• Submit complete and compliant loan applications to underwriting with all required documentation.
• Monitor loan pipelines daily to ensure timely progression and completion of tasks.
• Collaborate with underwriters, Mortgage Loan Officers, and partners to optimize the loan experience.
• Prepare loan documents and maintain accurate, organized member files.
• Ensure final closing packages and figures are delivered within established timelines.
• Communicate clearly with members throughout the loan process across channels.
• Resolve routine and complex issues with strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
