We're looking for a Lock Desk Analyst to join our Team. The Lock Desk Analyst is responsible for loan parameter changes, extensions, locks, relocks, rate renegotiations, phone/email task queue completions, etc., as this sets the borrower price and the company’s revenue at the loan level. Ensures compliance with company policies and investor guidelines. This is a great opportunity for someone with just couple years of experience to join a growing company in the mortgage industry!
This remote role will work 9:00am - 6:00pm Pacific time zone hours, regardless of your physical location.
Essential functions:
- Drive the daily operational flow of the Lock Desk – ensure locks received from clients are priced accurately, meet program guidelines and follow company pricing policies and procedures
- Coordinate change requests on existing rate locks (e.g. loan parameter changes, extensions, relocks and rate renegotiations)
- Answer phone inquiries and email requests within required turn times
- Perform these tasks cooperatively and under the guidance of the lock desk supervisor
- Support and assist with other Capital Market/Secondary Marketing projects and reporting as necessary
Position Qualifications:
Skills/Competencies:- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with internal teams, externals clients and be able to work independently
- Excellent time management skills, fast learner, self-motivated, and comfortable taking initiative.
- Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and high attention to detail.
- Mathematical acumen
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including market research and analysis
- Ability to succeed in a fast paced, changing environment and meet aggressive deadlines
Education and Experience:
- College degree preferred or a High School Diploma and 2 years of related experience
- Prior Mortgage experience required
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access
- Experience data mining, and programming a plus
- Financial modeling experience a plus
- Understanding of mortgage rate sheets, investor guidelines, and loan programs (Non-QM, Conventional, FHA, VA, etc.) helpful.
