Job summary

North Shore Bank, a locally owned community bank serving the Twin Ports area, is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor III to support one of our top teams in Duluth, MN. This onsite role works with underwriting and closing to ensure accurate processing of residential loan files and timely closings.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of mortgage processing experience, knowledge of FHA/VA/RD and agency products, and excellent communication skills. Encompass360 experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two year degree or related experience.
• Minimum five years mortgage processing experience and knowledge of FHA, VA, RD and Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac products preferred.
• Experience with Encompass360 preferred, but not required.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and the mortgage team in a timely, professional manner.
• Ability to multitask and process loans accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review residential loan applications for completeness and loan product guidelines.
• Order and verify credit bureau, employment, appraisal, title, flood and other verifications.
• Review underwriting findings and ensure file is ready for underwriting submission.
• Collaborate with Underwriting and Closing to clear conditions before closing.
• Support Loan Originator with pipeline management and provide updates to stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:

• Reviews residential loan application files to verify that application data is complete and meets bank standards and loan product guidelines, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment
• Orders, reviews and confirms credit bureau and employment information meet loan program requirements
• Orders appraisal, title, flood and verifications needed and reviews information to confirm documentation meets program requirements
• Reviews automated underwriting findings and loan program guidelines to assure file is ready for submission to underwriting
• Works with Underwriting and Closing to obtain any items to clear conditions prior to closing for a seamless closing transaction for customer
• Supports Loan Originator with pipeline management
• Communicates with internal and external contacts throughout the loan process to provide updates and/or request documentation needed to obtain a clear loan approval
• Performs all pre-closing requirements within regulatory time lines to meet closing dates
• Mentors other support and processor(s) on the team
• Performs other related duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

• Two year degree or related experience
• Minimum five years mortgage processing experience and knowledge of FHA, VA, RD and Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac products preferred
• Experience with Encompass360 preferred, but not required
