Job summary

Capital Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor for a 100% remote role across our core locations. You will collaborate with loan originators to review applications, gather documents, and prepare packages for underwriting while ensuring accuracy and a best-in-class customer experience.

The role requires recent mortgage industry experience, knowledge of lending terminology, and the ability to work with borrowers on lending requirements.

Qualifications

• Recent mortgage industry experience (assistant, loan processor, or loan officer) is required.
• Knowledge of lending terminology and ability to discuss requirements with borrowers.
• Experience processing conventional, FHA and VA loans.
• Proven customer service ability.

Responsibilities

• Calculates principal, interest and closing cost amounts and notifies the borrower.
• Prepares mortgage loan files by reviewing loan applications and clarifying/obtaining information.
• Confirms loan application information by contacting verification sources.
• Obtains loan documentation by ordering credit reports, surveys, appraisals, titles and related information.
• Identifies problems by highlighting deficiencies and notifying underwriter/supervisor.
• Discloses new loans, issues COC’s and completes loan setup functions.

Position Purpose

The Mortgage Loan Processor works closely with loan originators to process mortgage loans in order to provide a best-in-class customer experience. The Processor receives the application online in and must have the ability to quickly review for accuracy and completeness, advise the LO as to viability of loan at first glance and then must acquire necessary documents to submit to underwriting for final approval.

Position Responsibilities

• Calculates principal, interest and closing cost amounts and notifies the borrower accordingly
• Prepares mortgage loan files by reviewing loan applications and clarifying and/or obtaining additional information
• Confirms mortgage loan application information by corresponding with verification sources
• Obtains mortgage loan documentation by ordering credit reports, land surveys, building appraisals, titles and related information
• Identifies mortgage loan application and documentation problems by highlighting deficiencies and notifying the mortgage loan underwriter and/or mortgage loan supervisor accordingly
• Calculates principal, interest and closing cost amounts and notifies the borrower accordingly
• Processors should be able to disclose new loans, issue COC’s and complete the set up function of their loans

Minimum Education & Experience

• Recent experience in the mortgage industry as an assistant, loan processor or loan officer is required
• Must have knowledge of lending terminology and the ability/experience speaking with borrowers regarding lending requirements.
• Experience processing conventional, FHA and VA loans
• Proven customer service ability is required

Technical Knowledge and Skills

• Microsoft office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)

Compensation

Base Salary Range : $25.00 - $32.00 hourly. Final determination of where you are at in the salary range is based on numerous factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, skill set, education, and ability to meet qualifications within the job description.

Additional Compensation : This role will include a yearly annual target bonus based on individual performance.

Working Arrangements

This is a 100% remote role. We are currently hiring only within our core locations which include Maryland (MD), District of Columbia (DC), Virginia (VA), Pennsylvania (PA), Delaware (DE), Indiana (IN), Illinois (IL), North Carolina (NC), South Carolina (SC), Florida (FL).
