Job summary

Newtown Savings Bank in Bethel, CT is hiring a Mortgage Loan Officer (Mortgage Banker) to lead residential lending efforts. You will prospect, network with COIs, and guide applicants through the loan process from interview to documentation, ensuring profitability.

You’ll work with Encompass and coordinate with underwriting as needed. The role requires 4–6 years of mortgage lending experience, strong customer service, and the ability to build relationships within the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 4–6 years’ mortgage lending experience.
• Customer service oriented with effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and network with local COIs to build referral sources.
• Explain mortgage products and align loans with customer needs.
• Assist with Encompass online applications and follow up on open files.
