Job summary

Stock Yards Bank & Trust in Cincinnati is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to drive mortgage loan product sales through proactive outreach to individuals, builders, realtors, and other contacts. You will cultivate relationships, present loan options, and guide customers from application to closing while ensuring compliance with FHA, VA and conventional loan guidelines.

The role requires outside sales experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage flexible hours

Responsibilities

• Contact individuals, realtors and builders; attend civic meetings to expand networks and generate sales.

• Collect, compile and analyze information for loan approval; act as primary contact from sale to closing.
• Follow up with processors to ensure timely loan closings and maintain knowledge of FHA/VA/conventional rules.

Job Title: Mortgage Loan Officer

Department: Mortgage

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hours of Operation: 40 hours per week, start and end times may vary

General Job Summary:

Sell mortgage loan products through sales efforts with individuals, builders, realtors, and other contact groups.

Organizational Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supports the mission, vision and philosophy of the Bank. Complies willingly with all organizational policies and procedures.
• Supports all functions that maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Contact individuals, realtors and builders, attend chamber and other civic meetings to expand network contacts to generate sales
• Engage in marketing and promotional activities, such as giving presentations to groups, in an effort to generate sales
• Consult with customer to compile loan application in order to meet compliance guidelines while negotiating terms and conditions
• Collect, compile and analyze information for acceptability for approval for investor’s loan product
• Communicate with clients and potential clients, answering questions and providing information, acting as the primary point of contact from sale to closing
• Follow up closely with processor to ensure loans are closed timely
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FHA, VA, and conventional loan rules, regulations and guidelines through a combination of educational classes, correspondence courses, on the job training and investor web sites
• Other duties as assigned

• Unregulated and unmonitored schedule
• Due to the nature of this position, loan demand and customer convenience, employee is often called upon to work evening hours and week-ends; therefore, their hours can be adjusted at their discretion to meet their own schedules

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education:

High school/GED education, college degree preferred

Experience:

Outside sales experience with FHA, VA, and conventional lending
