Role Overview
The Member Direct Mortgage Loan Officer assists members through the mortgage application process, develops leads from current members and referral sources, and collaborates with call center partners to provide excellent service. The role involves outbound calls, managing leads, and meeting loan origination goals.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with contact center teams to serve members’ mortgage needs.
- Build relationships with existing and new borrowers to generate referrals.
- Make outbound calls from provided lead sources.
- Promote Westerra’s mortgage products and portfolio.
- Manage leads using established tools to maximize conversions.
- Conduct detailed interviews to assess financial needs and advise on suitable products.
- Maintain knowledge of agency guidelines and loan programs.
- Evaluate and structure mortgage applications, guiding members through the process.
- Analyze credit profiles and ensure compliance with all disclosure and documentation requirements.
- Communicate effectively with all parties involved in transactions.
- Document all communications accurately in the Loan Operating System (LOS).
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to quality standards.
- Achieve a production goal of a minimum of $2,000,000 in closed loans per month after six months.
- Engage in ongoing education and compliance training.
- Complete required reports and support team members as needed.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of mortgage origination experience with a proven funding record.
- NMLS Registration.
Skills & Abilities
- Sales and marketing skills with excellent communication.
- Strong computer skills, including LOS (preferably Mortgage Cadence), MS Office, and underwriting tools.
- Detail-oriented with organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle complex problems.
- Understanding of mortgage guidelines and ability to influence timelines.
