Job description
Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Loan Officer Assistant/Processor to support a high-producing Loan Originator. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of loan processing, underwriting, and pipeline management. This role is crucial in ensuring that loan applications are processed efficiently and accurately while adhering to all regulatory requirements, including Fair Housing regulations and TILA guidelines. This position will also support the Loan Originator by managing the CRM and assisting in marketing on a regular basis. This is a fully remote position; thus, personal organization and motivation are crucial without distractions during working hours. The majority of loans are in Pacific or Mountain time zones, so working those hours is required. If you reside in the Eastern time zone, this won’t work. This hire is for the perfect right hand to assist our lead Loan Originator on sales and CRM management, along with processing the loans that come in through our proprietary loan origination software.

Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Process loans from origination through closing, ensuring compliance with Lender and Agency standards.
  • Collaborate with loan officers to gather necessary documentation from borrowers and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Conduct credit analysis to assess borrower eligibility and risk factors.
  • Ensure all required disclosures are provided to borrowers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications throughout the loan process in the CRM.
  • Utilize basic math skills for calculations related to loan amounts, interest rates, and escrow accounts.
  • Prepare loan files for underwriting review and clear any conditions.
  • Assist the Loan Originator with weekly update status calls to borrowers and Realtors.
  • Ensure loans close on time and solve 95% of issues before escalating to the Loan Originator.
  • Be available after hours via mobile/email for urgent questions.
  • Consistently exceed borrower and referral partner expectations.
Qualifications
  • Must maintain an active NMLS license - those who have never had an NMLS license will not be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of recent history as an LOA, mortgage processing, and/or origination.
  • Proficient in DU/DO, LP, and major investor guidelines, along with the flexibility to learn/master non-traditional loan programs such as Reverse and NonQM.
  • Experience with Loan Origination Systems.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs/Sheets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to suit borrower and Realtor personalities or style.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across the branch and corporate levels.
  • Completion of all regulatory and compliance training.
Compensation
