AAFMAA Mortgage Services LLC (AMS) is seeking military-oriented professionals with strong sales and customer service skills to join our team and become a Loan Officer, also known as a Mortgage Loan Originator or Military Mortgage Advisor. AMS is part of the American Armed Forces Mutual Aid Association (AAFMAA), the longest-standing not-for-profit, member-owned association which serves the military community.   • Comprehensive marketing support that includes daily company-provided leads, local marketing and events, and customizable marketing tools and materials so you can focus on developing referral relationships and producing new loans.

Responsibilities:

  • Originate residential mortgage loans to current and prospective AAFMAA members.
  • Follow up and sell via phone, text, and email daily to qualified inbound & outbound leads which are provided.
  • Conduct outside sales, participate in local events and meetings, and make in-person presentations to develop and grow relationships with real estate professionals, homebuilders, and other referral sources to generate qualified mortgage leads.
  • Maintain a broad and current understanding of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, pricing strategies, and industry standards. Understand state and market area specific rules and regulations. Structure loan scenarios to best meet the needs of each borrower/Member.
  • Engage in local community activities such as working with other not-for-profit military-focused organizations to develop new business and grow awareness of AMS in your market.

Education & Skills Required:

  • Current mortgage license in any of the following states: CO, CA, TX, WA, or AZ
  • 3 years lending experience and mortgage knowledge is preferred but not required.
  • Organized with a strong attention for details.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong phone and in-person sales skills. Positive and professional attitude and very personable as the ideal candidate needs to be able to establish relationships with potential borrowers/Members and business contacts, as well as working well across the internal AMS organization and external partners and vendors.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office products and overall comfort with technology such as lead management/CRM and loan application systems.
  • Capacity to work independently, be self-motivated and adapt well to change, but also work well as part of a team that includes other departments such as Marketing, IT, and Operations (processing, underwriting, closing, and post-closing functions).
  • Veterans, Military Spouses and family members, highly preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 90-day salary and then 100% Commission
