Job summary

State Employees' Credit Union in Raleigh, NC, seeks an entry level Associate Mortgage Loan Specialist to guide members through the real estate loan process. You will assist with applications, underwrite with risk considerations, and communicate decisions clearly.

You will receive dedicated training including RELP, Core Modules, and MLO exposure, with opportunities to grow within the lending team and collaborate with the Real Estate Lending Processing Center to service mortgage needs.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree or CCUE/AA/AS via NC-CTP preferred.
• Excel and Elevate – New Employee Training required.
• Real Estate Lending Program (RELP) completed within 6 months.
• Completion of 10 Core Modules after E&E and training sessions.
• Additional Modules Required: SECU’s member-facing websites, branch security, funds transfer, etc.
• Must be eligible to be registered as an active MLO with NMLS.

Responsibilities

• Receive and assist in real estate loan applications as primary contact during origination.
• Assess, underwrite, and make recommendations on loan applications.
• Communicate decisions clearly to members; verify income documents.
• Counsel home buyers and homeowners; facilitate initial loan approvals.
• Maintain loan application history in the LOAN Origination System.
