Trustco Bank invites candidates to join its Mortgage Apprentice program in New York. The role combines structured training with hands‑on experience in residential mortgage lending, mentorship, and exposure to end‑to‑end processes in a banking environment.

Apprentices gain classroom and on‑the‑job training, with licensing costs covered by the Bank. The program leads to potential roles as Mortgage Loan Originator or Branch Manager, and includes comprehensive benefits and travel for training.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• High attention to detail and organizational ability.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field (preferred).
• Sales, banking, or customer service experience (preferred).
• Competitive hourly pay during apprenticeship (preferred).
• Eligibility for performance incentives in later program phases (preferred).

Salary Range: $45,000.00 To $60,000.00 Annually

Reports to: Training Officer & FVP Human Resources

Program Length: 12-18 months then transition into mortgage professional

About the Mortgage Apprentice Role

At Trustco Bank, we are committed to delivering exceptional service and seamless mortgage experiences. The Mortgage Apprentice participates in a structured training and development program designed to prepare individuals for a career in residential mortgage lending. Apprentices gain hands‑on experience, formal training, and mentorship while learning the end‑to‑end mortgage lending process in a banking environment.

Schedule

Full-time position; Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Travel to and from Albany, NY - Loan Center for training and periodic check‑ins

Physical Demands:

Primarily sedentary role involving standard office activities such as computer work, phone communication, and document handling.
