Job summary

Action-Youth-America in Long Beach is seeking a Before School Program Leader to engage students in a safe, inclusive space that nurtures academic, social, and emotional growth.

You will supervise up to 20 children, lead enrichment activities, and collaborate with the Site Coordinator to ensure smooth program operations. Requires a High School Diploma or GED, ability to pass Live Scan and TB test, and availability 6:30am–9:30am, Monday to Friday at AYA sites.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to lead enrichment activities for up to 20 students.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during program hours and ensure safety.
• Establish clear behavior expectations using positive reinforcement.
• Facilitate engaging lessons including STEM, arts, sports.
• Communicate progress to Site Coordinator regularly.
• Collaborate with team to plan and adapt activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
