Job summary

HCA Healthcare Laboratory Services seeks a Complex Specimen Processor to receive and prepare specimens for testing, ensuring accuracy and timely processing in a hospital lab setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with a vocational/technical diploma beneficial and 1–3 years’ lab experience, serving patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics. On-site position with extensive benefits and career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Vocational/technical diploma is beneficial.
• 1–3 years of experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
• Experience with patients across all age groups from infancy to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Receive laboratory specimens into the LIS; process, sort and prepare specimens for referral laboratories.
• Label specimens and aliquots per established protocols and testing orders.
• Centrifuge and aliquot specimens.
• Prepare specimens for courier pick-up.
• Maintain records/documentation of specimen issues and take corrective action.
• Assess specimen requirements for referral testing and troubleshoot issues.
• Review Outstanding Specimen Report and pending referral testing issues.
