Job summary

Show Pony, located inside Origin Hotel in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a Morning Restaurant Server to join our team. The role focuses on delivering a welcoming breakfast experience with attentive, friendly service from guest arrival through meal completion.

The ideal candidate is dependable, personable, and proactive, with a focus on anticipating guest needs and resolving concerns quickly. Availability 6:00 AM–11:00 AM, including weekends, is required.

Qualifications

• One year of prior food and beverage experience preferred.
• Prior guest relations training.
• Knowledge of proper food handling.
• Strong written/verbal communications skills.
• Punctuality and reliable attendance are required.
• Proper food safety training and certification as described by law.
• Experience working with computers (MS Office/Google) POS and reservation software (OpenTable).

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers warmly.
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
• Prepare dining tables for service and setup.
• Take guest food and beverage orders accurately.
• Know current menu choices and deviations.
• Manage seating assignments and communicate guest needs to cooks.
• Ensure a memorable dining experience.
• Record revenue accurately and process payments.
• Assist with bussing, kitchen prep, and cleaning tasks.
• Help with special events as needed.
• Answer telephone with proper etiquette.
• Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers.
• Assist with front-of-house duties and beverage service.
