The candidate will manage daily content, coordinate with co-anchors, and mentor staff while representing the station at events and on-air during breaking news and severe weather coverage.

Qualifications

• Two+ years in television news anchoring and reporting.
• Ability to lead and motivate a diverse newsroom team under tight deadlines.
• Strong news judgment and ethics; strong writing for air and digital.
• Excellent on-air presence with ad-libbing and calm decision-making.
• Experience with newsroom systems (ENPS) and editing tools such as Edius.
• Experience publishing content to websites and managing social channels.
• Comfort with early-morning schedules and driving responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the morning news team (anchors, reporters, producers, photographers) to uphold journalism standards and brand consistency.
• Oversee daily editorial direction; shape content, review scripts, and deliver dynamic newscasts.
• Coach and mentor newsroom staff with constructive feedback.
• Anchor morning newscasts with energy, credibility, and conversational delivery.
• Pitch, research, write, and produce compelling local stories.
• Deliver live reports from field and studio during breaking news and weather events.
• Publish engaging content to station website, apps, and social media.
