Boise State Public Radio seeks a local host for Morning Edition and creator of the BSPR weekday podcast “The Connector.” You will assist in daily reporting, news planning and editing, staying atop local and national news from multiple sources, and rewriting stories for air.
You will edit scripts for accuracy, arrange on-air content, and produce two-ways, reporting spots and features, while presenting content live on-air in an authoritative, conversational manner.
Serve as local host of NPR’s “Morning Edition” and creator of the BSPR weekday podcast “The Connector.” Assist in daily reporting, news planning and editing. Stays atop daily local and national news through multiple sources. Selects and rewrites stories for air. Edits scripts for accuracy, timeliness and proper usage. Arranges newscasts, billboards and other on‑air content including reporting and producing two‑ways for show. Presents content live on‑air in an authoritative and conversational manner that connects with local listeners.
Boise State Public Radio is Idaho’s largest nonprofit, listener‑supported NPR member station, reaching the region's metropolitan and rural areas. Our radio network serves two‑thirds of the population of Idaho through 28 transmitters & translators, as well as on digital platforms. Recognized subject matter expert who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in‑depth understanding of the professional field with limited oversight from managers. Independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; requires deep job knowledge of area typically obtained through higher education combined with experience. Manages large projects or processes and problems faced are difficult and often complex; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy. Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures.
Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree and 5 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.
