Job summary

RJW Transport, Inc. is seeking a dependable Custodian to perform general upkeep of the office building and maintain a clean, orderly environment. You will undertake heavy cleaning tasks, handle waste, service restrooms, and assist with basic repairs as needed.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to follow procedures, and effective communication with management. Shifts run 5:00AM–3:30PM with Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat schedules, reporting to the shift supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English.
• Basic knowledge of repair techniques or job training is a plus.
• Experience in janitorial/maintenance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with cleaners and tools.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Operate vehicles required to perform cleaning work.
• Follow safety procedures for chemical cleaners and equipment.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Notify management about major repairs or needs for building systems.
• Remove snow from sidewalks and parking areas as needed.
• Requisition supplies and equipment for cleaning duties.
• Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent infestation.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
