Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital seeks an inventory and supply coordinator to manage surgical supplies and equipment for assigned services. You will monitor usage, maintain par levels, restock, and coordinate repairs, while tracking expenses and assisting with budgeting.

Responsibilities include vendor liaison, quality checks of incoming orders, and supporting new product introductions. A high school diploma and 1 year of supply management experience are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • One year of Supply Management experience is required.
  • Technical training in OR/Surgical Technology or related field is preferred.

  • Receives, inspects, and verifies incoming orders; resolves issues with vendors.
  • Collaborates with clinical leadership to address supply issues and evaluate new products.
  • Restocks, rotates, and organizes supplies in designated storage areas.
  • Maintains purchasing, inventory, and repair records; assists with budgeting.
  • Coordinates equipment repairs and maintenance with vendors and departments.
  • Assists with evaluation and rollout of new supplies, guiding usage and costs.
  • Participates on committees and project teams related to supply chain.

Position Summary

Maintains inventory of specialized surgical supplies and equipment for assigned service(s). Monitors usage, establishes inventory par levels and orders and restocks needed items. Arranges and monitors equipment repair services. Maintains records, monitors purchase and repair costs and assists in selection and introduction of new supplies and equipment. Communicates all supply disruptions and recommendations in a timely manner with clinical management.

Schedule

7:00am-3:30pm

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, including implantable items, ensuring availability for scheduled procedures and reordering based on par levels.
  • Receives, inspects, and verifies incoming orders, resolving any issues with vendors or Purchasing as needed.
  • Collaborates with clinical leadership to address supply issues, evaluate new product requests, and manage slow-moving inventory.
  • Restocks, rotates, and organizes supplies in designated storage areas, ensuring items are properly labeled and stored.
  • Maintains purchasing, inventory, and repair records; verifies invoices, processes payments, and assists with budgeting and expense tracking.
  • Coordinates equipment repairs and maintenance, working with vendors and internal departments to ensure timely service.
  • Assists with the evaluation and rollout of new supplies and equipment, providing guidance on usage, sourcing, and costs.
  • Participates on committees and project teams related to supply chain and equipment management.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED required
Experience
  • One year of Supply Management experience required.
  • Basic Technical Training in OR/Surgical Technology or related field preferred.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
