Job summary

The Monticello Central School District seeks a forward-thinking and dynamic School Building Principal to lead MCSD's High School and engaged staff, parents, students, and community. The successful candidate will articulate a vision of educational excellence, be highly motivated, and able to impact student learning.

The role requires NYS Administrative Certification, substantial teaching/leadership experience, and a commitment to whole-child development.

Qualifications

• Current New York State Administrative Certification (SAS, SDA, SBL).
• 2 years of previous Administrative Leadership preferred.
• 3 years of experience as a Classroom Teacher (Elementary or Secondary).
• Candidates must be highly organized.
• Commitment to development of the whole child and belief that all children can learn.

Responsibilities

• Comply with State and Federal laws, Board of Education policies and district expectations.
• Supervise and evaluate teaching staff and building employees.
• Supervise, evaluate, and monitor the curriculum offered.
• Pursue workshops and growth as the instructional leader in the building.
• Review and make recommendations to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
• Regularly assess the climate of the building and perspectives of stakeholders.
• Build a school culture of trust, risk-taking, responsibility, and choice.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current New York State Administrative Certification (SAS, SDA, SBL).
• 2 years of previous Administrative Leadership preferred.
