Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools in Paramus, NJ seeks a Teacher Toddler/Preschool to guide early learners in a modern Montessori classroom. You will develop weekly lesson plans, assess student progress, and collaborate with parents and staff in a values-driven, supportive environment.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Bachelor's degree required (Elementary Education preferred); Montessori experience and NAMC credentials are preferred or pursued within the first year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required (Elementary Education preferred).
• Montessori Experience preferred.
• NAMC preferred or willing to obtain within first year of employment.
• Ability to communicate with parents effectively and professionally.
• Experience with lesson planning and development.
• Ability to multitask in an ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Formalize lesson plans on a weekly basis for the upcoming instructional period.
• Relate instructional objectives to curriculum standards and demonstrate effective decision-making concerning instructional goals.
• Determine students’ performance using both informal and formal assessments and observations.
• Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program.
• Use a variety of instructional materials, including contextual, supplemental, teacher-constructed, and teaching bulletin boards, as well as audio-visual aids, hands-on activities, discovery-based learning, and activity-based learning.
• Maintains accurate and timely educational assessments and progress notes for all assigned students.
• Train and supervise a teacher assistant within the classroom.
• Meet with parents throughout the year to discuss the child’s progress.
• Attends Open House, Back to School Night, Teacher In-Service days, and all weekly staff meetings and weekly teacher curriculum meetings
