Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience working with children; classroom teaching experience a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clear expectations for academic responsibilities and class routines.
• Give lessons to students in groups and to individual students as directed by Lead Teacher or Director.
• Supervise students on field trips.
• Recognize when students are not meeting academic or behavioral expectations and communicate this to LT or Director.
• Follow recommendations for students with IEP, 504, or neuropsych evaluations and ensure supports are in place.
• Support students with individual behavioral plans when shared by LT or Director.
• Supervise children during emergency practices such as fire drills.
• Build productive relationships with parents when opportunities arise (dismissal, assemblies, etc.).
• Maintain daily attendance in Renweb.
• Report accidents/incidents to LT or Director and complete forms as needed.
• Perform duties related to arrival/dismissal and lunch/recess.
• Demonstrate commitment to Montessori education values of grace and courtesy, respect and responsibility.
• Protect the privacy and confidentiality of each student and colleague.
