Job summary

The New Century School in Baltimore's Fell's Point location is seeking a passionate Montessori Primary Guide for ages 3-6 to establish and lead a new Primary classroom for the 2026-27 academic year.

Start date is August 24, 2026; responsibilities include guiding student development, maintaining an authentic Montessori environment, collaborating with staff and families, and documenting progress. We value diversity, ongoing growth, and a warm, engaging approach.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a Montessori environment, preferably as a lead guide.
• Montessori teaching certification, or active enrollment with substantial progress in an accredited program
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster children's independence.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A deep understanding of Montessori philosophy and a commitment to its principles.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with preschool children

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an authentic Montessori Primary classroom.
• Guide children in their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Prepare and maintain a beautiful, engaging, and organized learning environment.
• Collaborate with the administration and other educators to support the school’s mission.
• Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress.
• Communicate effectively with families to foster a strong school-home partnership.
