Montessori Preschool Assistant Teacher

Full-Time, $20/hr

Johnson County Montessori School (JCMS) is seeking caring and enthusiastic Assistant Teachers to join our team and support children ages 2.5 - 6 in a nurturing, developmentally rich environment.

At JCMS, we believe that children thrive in environments where they are free to explore, discover, and grow at their own pace. Our Montessori approach emphasizes hands-on learning, self-direction, and cooperation- at JCMS, you'll support a classroom culture where curiosity is celebrated and independence is nurtured!

As an Assistant Teacher, you will support our Lead Teachers in guiding children through their daily routines and learning experiences while fostering positive relationships with children, families, and JCMS team members.

Schedules Available: Monday-Friday

• 8am-4pm
• 9:30am-5:30pm

What You'll Do:

• Protect children's health and safety
• Promote the active engagement of all children while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude
• Assist with implementing lesson plans, activities, and routines
• Respond calmly and consistently to challenging behavior
• Remain actively engaged with children and other classroom responsibilities at all times
  
  
  

What We're Looking For:

• One year of prior teaching experience, preferred
• Ability to lift, bend, reach, and perform physical support techniques
• Willing to meet all necessary licensing requirements
• The ability to observe, ask questions, listen actively, and give and accept feedback effectively
