Job description

Visitation School is seeking a Teacher Assistant for our established Montessori Pre-K Program.If you are a passionate, reflective, intentional educator, then we want to hear from you! The Montessori Teacher Assistant will contribute to a progressive, integrated curriculum informed by Montessori pedagogy and principles.This is an hourly, benefits-eligible, 0.74 FTE, academic-year/10-month position with scheduled hours from 7:45 am – 3:15 pm on school days only.Visitation is an independent Catholic day school with a culture permeated by Salesian Spirituality. We offer a unique combination of learning experiences with a coed Lower School (Montessori preschool through grade 5), an all-girls Middle School (grades 6-8), and an all-girls Upper School (grades 9-12).   • Help maintain classroom management, supervision and assist in managing the behavior of students
  • Ensuring the safety of students
  • Organizing, replenishing and assisting in creating learning materials
  • Reviews and resets classroom environment to ensure that learning materials are in and ready for student use
  • Work with individual and small groups of children to support independence and learning
  • Prepares, monitors and assists children with clean up of activities
  • Participates in individual student action plans, implementing activities and recording progress under the direction of the Lead Montessori Teacher
  • Contributes to classroom record keeping and communication journals
  • Foster a nurturing and stimulating non-competitive environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
