Job description

Montessori Lower Elementary Assistant Teacher

Summit Montessori School seeks an experienced Lower Elementary Assistant Teacher for a full-time position beginning August 25, 2025. We seek a motivated individual with strong organizational and communication skills who values working as a member of a dynamic and creative team.


The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of the Montessori Lower Elementary classroom and its operation and will be adept at supporting the classroom systems (tone keeping, environmental preparation, paperwork organization, student observation and follow-through)
that support the functioning of a successful Montessori LE classroom. Candidates must have experience working with children 6 through 9 years of age. Candidates must have or be willing to gain proficiency with classroom technology support systems such as Transparent Classroom
and Google docs.


Candidates will ideally hold a Bachelor’s Degree and have some experience and/or knowledge of the Montessori philosophy. Additional support to understand the role of the Assistant Teacher in a Montessori classroom will be provided. The ideal candidate will be highly
motivated toward professional development, and able to work successfully and collaboratively in a team approach.
