Job summary

Montessori Learning Community of Asheville Inc in Asheville, NC seeks a Montessori-credentialed 3-6 Guide to join our team. Lead Guides collaborate with a co-teacher to create a prepared environment and nurture each child's development.

You will communicate with families regularly, record observations, and participate in outdoor lessons. The classroom serves 18 students in mixed age 3-6, with a second Lead Guide and an Assistant; hours are 40 per week, 7:30–4:00.

Qualifications

• Lead Guides work in teams with another co-teacher to create a prepared environment for optimal development.
• Regular communication with families and careful observations with record keeping to understand each child's needs and interests.
• 40 hours per week with start/end times between 7:30 and 4:00 based on personal preference.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a prepared learning environment for 3-6 year olds.
• Collaborate with co-teacher to deliver Montessori activities and lessons.
• Observe and document child progress, and communicate with families.
• Engage children in outdoor lessons and bring learning outside when possible.
