Job summary

Learning Care Group’s Montessori Unlimited school seeks a Food Specialist to prepare home-style meals for children and staff, ensuring adherence to state, local, and USDA guidelines. The role includes inventory control, menu adaptation, and occasional classroom assistance within a nurturing, Montessori setting.

The candidate should have prior cooking/food prep experience in childcare, be flexible with hours, and willing to learn and follow all regulations.

Qualifications

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility.
• A willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school menu and budget, and prepare meals/snacks for children and staff.
• Follow the daily menu provided by the Director which incorporates USDA, licensing, and health department regulations.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
