Apple Montessori Schools in Mahwah, NJ is seeking a Teacher Assistant for Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms. You will support Lead Teachers, help children explore, build independence, and nurture curiosity in a caring Montessori setting.

Hours include 8:00am–1:00pm, 1:00pm–6:30pm, and 3:00pm–6:30pm, Monday through Friday. The role emphasizes safety, active engagement, and communication with families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Genuine love of children and a caring attitude.
• Ability to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
• Understanding of health and safety guidelines.
• Capacity to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students.
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication.
• Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity.
• Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs.
