Discovery Garden Montessori School in Springfield, MO is seeking a full-time on-site Montessori Guide to create a developmentally appropriate classroom that reflects Montessori principles and supports independence, curiosity, and respect.

The Guide will observe, plan lessons, guide individual and small-group work, and assess student progress while collaborating with families and colleagues to nurture each child’s social, emotional, and academic growth.

Qualifications

• Montessori certification or training or commitment to completing training.
• Experience in early childhood or elementary education, preferably Montessori.
• Knowledge of child development and ability to observe, document, and respond to individual learning needs.
• Strong communication and collaboration with students, families, and colleagues in a diverse community.
• Ability to create a calm, orderly, and engaging learning environment that promotes independence and respect.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
• Commitment to educating the whole child and supporting each learner’s full potential.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the classroom, including moving materials, floor work with children, and supervising outdoor activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a developmentally appropriate Montessori classroom reflecting Montessori principles.
• Observe students, plan and present lessons, guide individual and small-group work, and assess progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues and families to support social, emotional, and academic growth.
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and community events.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure a safe, orderly classroom.
