Job summary

Bezos Academy in Mesa, AZ is seeking a part-time Assistant Teacher (Float) to support our preschool at Adobe Hills (1001 N Power Rd). The role is 20 hours per week with a four-hour shift from 11:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Starting pay is $19 per hour, with a full range of $19-$22; benefits include paid sick time and a 401(k) match. Candidates must meet minimum qualifications and pass required background checks.

Qualifications

• Age 18 with high school diploma or GED.
• Six or more months of prior work experience in childcare, education, or a related setting.
• Ability to pass background checks, TB screenings, and trainings required by Arizona to supervise children independently.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs and supervise children safely.
• Access to reliable transportation and ability to attend shifts as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a floating assistant teacher, providing support wherever the school needs it.
• Independently supervise children in classrooms and during transitions, arrival/departure, and outdoor time.
• Maintain accurate child and family records.
• Complete Montessori basics training and credentialing requirements within seven days of hire.
