Job summary

Montessori Academy of Broward (MAB) is seeking an Elementary Teacher to create and sustain a dynamic, academically rigorous classroom for first through fifth grades using inquiry-based Montessori methods. You will guide students in independence, leadership, critical thinking, collaboration, and personal responsibility.

Qualifications

• Montessori Elementary certification or willingness to become certified.
• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Experience teaching elementary-age students in Montessori or child-centered environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a Montessori classroom that fosters independence, inquiry, collaboration, and meaningful learning.
• Deliver Montessori lessons across language, mathematics, science, cultural studies, geography, and practical life.
• Support students in developing executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, responsibility, independence, and self-motivation.
• Promote social-emotional growth by guiding students in grace and courtesy, collaboration, leadership, conflict resolution, and respect for others.
• Observe students regularly and maintain accurate records of academic, behavioral, and developmental progress to inform instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs, interests, and readiness levels of all learners.
• Design hands-on, engaging learning experiences that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and real-world application.
• Maintain clear, professional, and consistent communication with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with assistants, specialists, and colleagues to support student success and effective classroom operations.
• Supervise students throughout the school day, including transitions, lunch, outdoor play, field trips, and dismissal, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Participate in school events, staff meetings, professional development, and parent conferences as an active member of the school community.
• Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and a commitment to continuous growth and lifelong learning.
