Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
• Knowledge of subjects assigned; general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior; strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum.
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for diverse learning styles.
• Present subject matter per TEA guidelines and policies.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and equipment.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement and adjust instruction.
• Coordinate with special education staff to modify curriculum as needed for IEPs.
• Establish communication with parents, students, and staff; participate in meetings.
• Provide supervision of teacher aides and volunteers as assigned.
• Utilize technology to enhance teaching and learning and maintain classroom management.
