Job summary

Montessori Children’s Academy (MCA) is seeking Assistant Teachers and On-Staff Substitute Assistants to join our dedicated team. You will work with Head Teachers to maintain a calm, prepared Montessori environment and support the developmental, social, behavioral, and academic needs of the children.

Responsibilities include materials prep, supervising students, modeling grace and courtesy, and effective communication with the Head Teacher.

Qualifications

• Alignment with Montessori philosophy and values.
• Commitment to at least 12 hours of approved Continuing Education per school year.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Successful completion of CARI and fingerprinting background checks.

Responsibilities

• Help Head Teacher maintain Montessori Prepared Environment through materials prep and classroom setup.
• Supervise and support students, fostering independence and responsibility.
• Model positivity, grace, and courtesy in and out of the classroom.
• Communicate effectively with Head Teacher to support individualized learning.
• Assist with daily routines such as snacks, organization, and light cleaning.
• Contribute to weekly team meetings and maintain a safe environment.
