Job description

Agile Space Industries is a rapidly growing supplier of propulsion hardware and engineering services for the space industry. Headquartered in Durango, Colorado, with expanding operations in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, Agile has achieved more than 40% year-over-year growth for the past three years, and our momentum continues to accelerate.

At Agile, we design, build, and test in‑space propulsion systems that give spacecraft the ability to maneuver with precision, reliability, and purpose. Our technologies play a critical role in missions that range from lunar landings and resource utilization to national defense, human exploration, and commercial space transport.

This is an onsite role based in Durango, Colorado. Durango offers a rare combination of meaningful aerospace work and exceptional quality of life, with access to world‑class skiing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, rafting, and a vibrant mountain‑town community. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Agile is seeking an experienced Product Lead to support the development and execution of monopropellant rocket engine product lines. This role is responsible for owning product definition, roadmap planning support, and technical coordination activities supporting both business development and program execution efforts.

The Product Lead works with technical fellows to define the technical roadmap for the product line. This role works across engineering, manufacturing, program management, and business development teams to refine product direction, establish technical requirements, and ensure alignment between customer mission needs and product capabilities.

The Product Lead will own the technical volume for proposals and ensure the product line technical roadmap is reflected in proposal efforts. The Product Lead will also own the technical product details used to support marketing and sales, such as fly sheets. This role will oversee the initial establishment of product requirements from proposal award through SRR, ensuring an effective handoff to the program systems engineering team.

Agile operates in a fast‑paced development environment. This role is expected to take ownership of assigned product areas, support technical planning activities, and help ensure products are positioned to meet long‑term company and customer objectives. This position may require occasional travel, some on short notice to provide direct customer support and technical assistance.

Responsibilities
  • Drive product definition and roadmap planning for monopropellant propulsion products
  • Lead technical activities related to business development and proposal efforts
  • Define and maintain product‑level technical requirements
  • Lead requirements definition activities from contract award through SRR
  • Develop technical execution plans with support from engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Lead the technical transition of programs from business development into execution
  • Serve as a technical liaison between customers, programs, and internal engineering teams
  • Establish technical relationships with customers to align products with mission needs
  • Participate in gated product development reviews and provide technical guidance for product evolution activities.
  • Support trade studies, anomaly investigations, and product improvement efforts
  • Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment between technical, schedule, and product objectives
Requirements
  • B.S. in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace or related technical field
  • Proven experience with monopropellant rocket engine propulsion systems, including architecture, design, integration, test, and qualification
  • Knowledge of propulsion feed systems, valves, regulators, catalyst beds, thermal management, structural considerations, and pulsed thruster operation
  • Familiarity with propulsion system requirements development, verification, manufacturing, and qualification activities
  • Experience supporting proposal development and customer technical discussions
  • Experience supporting gated design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
  • Experience with spacecraft propulsion interfaces, mission integration, trade studies, anomaly investigations, and technical risk reduction efforts
  • Strong systems engineering, technical communication, and cross‑functional coordination skills
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams and with customers to define mission objectives, CONOPS, and system requirements
  • Experience with product development processes and technical decision‑making for propulsion systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools such as JAMA or similar
  • Experience supporting failure investigations and root cause analysis
  • Familiarity with NASA and/or other aerospace industry standards
  • Clear and concise presentation and communication skills
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques
