Job summary

Van Pool Transportation LLC is seeking a School Van Monitor. Earn 20-25 hours per week at $18 per hour, with shifts 5:30am-9:00am and 1:00pm-5:00pm. Training is provided both in the classroom and on the job, including a 401(k) plan, dental, vision, and company-paid life insurance.

You will assist students safely, monitor behavior, and maintain clear communication with schools and families. Applicants must be 18+, pass CORI/SORI and drug screens, and communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

• Age 18+ required.
• Ability to pass a background check (CORI/SORI) and drug screen.
• Effective communication in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Help students enter/exit vehicle and secure safety belts.
• Monitor student behavior and provide guidance.
• Report unsafe behavior to management and follow corrective steps.
• Communicate clearly with students, parents, teachers, and staff.

What We Offer

What You’ll Be Doing

• Safely assist students as needed. This includes helping them enter and exit the vehicle, using the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belts, and safely securing them in car seats and booster seats. Lifting may be required.
• Monitor student behavior to provide appropriate guidance, feedback, and direction when necessary.
• Report unsafe and inappropriate student behavior to management; follow directions and implement corrective steps as assigned.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly in (English) with students, parents, teachers, and Van Pool staff.
• Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills while using Van Pool’s two-way radio system.
• Must have the physical capability to safely install car seats and booster seats.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal directions and instructions from supervisors.
• Must demonstrate a willingness to work effectively with school age children with special needs.
