The Telemetry Monitor Technician observes, evaluates, reports, interprets, and records electrocardiogram (EKG) recordings for monitored patients. Provides indirect patient care to adolescents through the adult patient population. Under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and or/the Physician, provides age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintains a safe environment, collects information, communicates effectively, and utilizes technology. The role of the Telemetry Monitor Technician also includes patient advocacy.
An EKG Certification Exam is a condition of continued employment and must be achieved within 30 days of hire with a passing score determined by a valid and reliable testing source/program. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be completed within 30 days of employment.
