Monitor/Telemetry Technician
The Monitor Technician is responsible for documenting all activities performed in accordance with established policy; Rhythm recognition, analysis, and interpretation. Accurately interprets cardiac rhythms and posts strips on flow sheet within 60 minutes of time run and reports to RN all changes in rhythms. The Monitor Technician also observes patient behavior, focusing on biophysical, developmental, cognitive, emotional, spiritual and sociocultural needs. Will be responsible for performing the secretarial/clerical aspects of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Orders supplies for the unit/department following the budget guidelines as set by the Department Director/Manager.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • BLS Certification (AHA and current) Required
  • Certification from cardiac arrhythmia recognition class Required
  • One (1) year as telemetry technician in an acute care facility preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
  • CPI Certification within the first 90 days
