Job summary

Sentara Louise Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is hiring a Monitor Technician for the night shift. The role requires observing and documenting EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from the patient’s norm.

Minimum education is high school, with completion of a monitor technician program or equivalent within 90 days of hire. Prior health care exposure is a plus, and a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Overview

Sentara Louise Obici Hospital is now hiring a Monitor Technician . This position Observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm.

Education

High School Grad or Equivalent - Required

Certification / Licensure

Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.

Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.

Or 1 year experience in monitor technician surveillance within the last 5 years will be accepted in substitute of a monitor tech surveillance program/course.

To be released from new employee orientation all Monitor Technicians must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool which includes passing a basic arrhythmia exam.

Experience

Any previous health care experience can be considered. Basic understanding of cardiac monitoring or EKG is strongly desired.

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $19.55 - $28.69 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
