Overview:

The Monitoring Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances. Works cooperatively as part of a team. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and/or current Mercy coworker.Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.
  • Other: Basic computer skills. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure is a must.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience preferred but not mandatory.Preferred Certifications: CRAT certification preferred.
