Job summary

Pain Physicians of Wisconsin is hiring a Monitor Technician for Spravato/Medical Assistant or LPN in a clinic setting. You will assist providers, collect vital signs, perform phlebotomy tasks, document in the EMR, and support patient flow and safety during Spravato treatments.

This role requires medical experience; on-the-job training is provided. Applicants should have strong organizational and communication skills and be able to work under general supervision to deliver high-quality patient

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; CMA certification preferred but training available.
  • Related experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, judgment, communication, and analytical skills; sometimes under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Assists provider in seeing patients; gathers and records vital signs and medical histories, prepares patients for examination, draws blood, initiates toxicology screens, and administers medications as directed.
  • Records information in electronic medical records (EMR) or paper chart and gathers all essential components from demographics sheets/consents/credit policies/charge slips, updates medication and history.
  • Completes necessary paperwork including printing prescriptions, work restrictions, referrals, and scheduling diagnostic testing.
  • Participates in the correct scheduling of patients and communicates with the scheduling department.
  • Obtains and documents vitals and data regarding modified Aldrete and discharge readiness scores; assists in discharge with appropriate paperwork.
  • Assists in chart review on daily basis to ensure completeness and accuracy of patient documentation.
  • Helps keep ASC orderly and follows cleaning protocols.
  • Acts as scribe for provider recording patient information as dictated, when requested.
  • Supports Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement initiatives as part of the team.
  • Facilitates communication to physician and health care provider regarding questions about treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients.
  • Responsible for monitoring patients while Spravato treatment is being administered.
  • Maintains safety and dignity of patient.
  • Demonstrates competency in at least one of: surgical aseptic technique, equipment readiness, and room turnover; documents and communicates issues to providers.

PositionSummary

The purpose of this position is to provide direct patient care under general supervision of licensed personnel, maintaining and operating specialized equipment, and performing any other duties deemed necessary to insure optimal patient care and physician service. Medical experience required. On-the-job training provided.

  • Responsible for monitoring patients while Spravato treatment is being administered.
  • Always participates and maintains safety and dignity of patient.
  • In addition, have demonstrated competency and routinely perform duties in at least one of the following:
  • Surgical: Applies and monitors principles of aseptic technique throughout intra-operative period. Assists provider by having all necessary equipment available and ready. Efficiently "turns over" rooms between patients following proper cleaning technique. Communicates all breaches of aseptic technique immediately to the provider and circulating nurse.
  • Effectively communicates with health care providers regarding patient questions and needs. Documents accurately in EHR, creates encounters as needed, properly updates, and utilizes medication module. Tasks and communicates with providers regarding triage needs.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred but will train the right candidate for this role..
  • Related experience preferred.
