Job summary

Asante is seeking a Cardiac Monitor Tech for day shift, on-call coverage, and a 0.3 FTE schedule. The role focuses on monitoring EKG rhythms, documenting orders, and supporting unit clerical tasks under RN/LPN/Physician supervision.

Responsibilities include transcription of orders, communication of information, and requisition of supplies, with emphasis on accuracy and timely reporting of any rhythms changes to the care team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Successful Completion of Asante’s Basic Cardiac Rhythms course required.
• Clerical, reception, or other healthcare-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, document and interpret EKG rhythms and/or hemodynamic lines for assigned patients.
• Transcribe orders and communicate information to the care team.
• Requisition supplies and equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and report EKG abnormalities to staff.

Additional Position Details: FTE: 0.3 | On Call | 1st Shift - Days

Salary Range: $21.19 - $29.15

Shift Differentials

• $2.15 extra per hour between 11:00pm and 7:00am (Nights)
• $1.27 extra per hour between 3:00pm and 11:00pm (Swing Shift)
• $1.10 extra per hour for weekend shifts

Position Summary

The Cardiac Monitor Tech is responsible for the unit’s clerical duties, transcription of orders, communication of information and requisition of supplies and equipment. Additional responsibilities include monitoring, documenting and interpreting EKG rhythms and/or hemodynamic lines for assigned patients on the unit under the direction of the RN, LPN, Physician or Physician Assistant. Related responsibilities include documenting and reporting EKG abnormalities, changes, or concerns to the appropriate staff member.

Position Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience demonstrating ability to effectively communicate as needed for the position is required.
• Successful Completion of Asante’s Basic Cardiac Rhythms course is required.
• Clerical, reception, or other healthcare-related experience, preferred.

Working Environment

• Most shifts are 10 - 12 hours (depending on the unit) and will include long periods of sitting, watching monitors and working on a computer.
