More than 2,500 team members at more than 70 Tidelands Health locations bring our healing mission to life each day. **A Brief Overview** The Monitor Technician/Nursing Assistant continually monitors cardiac rhythms on a specific unit, identifies and interprets changes in rhythms and acts appropriately. Performs clerical duties on a nursing unit, answers the telephone, relays messages, and acts as a receptionist receiving and directing visitors and ambulatory patients. The Monitor Technician/Nursing Assistant is also responsible for direct patient care services as assigned by the Clinical Director and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. **What you will do*** Perform routine patient care and support services under the supervision of a registered nurse.* Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms of assigned patients through continuous surveillance.* Integrate education and technical competence to gain patient cooperation and confidence.* Exercise sound judgment and clinical skills to support the patient's plan of care.* Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and hospital policies to ensure patient privacy and safety.* Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and patients.* Recognize emergency situations and take appropriate action.* Manage multiple tasks and prioritize assignments in a dynamic environment.* Build collaborative relationships with peers and staff to achieve departmental objectives. **Education Qualifications*** High School Diploma with the successful completion of Medical Terminology, Nursing Assistant or Monitor Tech course preferred. May substitute 2 years previous specific work experience with medical terminology for the Medical Terminology course certification.
