Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking an entry-level Monitor Technician to observe ECG and CCTV monitors, recognizing arrhythmias and notifying the care team as needed. The role includes obtaining baseline strips, maintaining monitoring equipment, and ensuring emergency gear is clean and ready for use.

Strong attention to detail and reliable communication with nurses are essential. Responsibilities include performing related duties as required and documenting findings each shift to support patient safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0-1 years of technical experience required.
• Documented Monitor Tech experience required.

Responsibilities

• Observes cardiac and CCTV monitors on patients.
• Recognizes arrhythmias and obtains documentary strip.
• Reports all arrhythmias to nurse responsible for patient.
• Obtains a baseline strip each shift on all monitored patients.
• Replaces electrode pads, wires, and batteries as needed.
• Obtains EKGs as necessary.
• Ensures emergency equipment is cleaned and checked.
• Performs related duties as required; all essential functions per ADA.

Job Description

Observes electrocardiogram (ECG) monitor and closed-circuit television (CCTV), and alerts nurses and physicians to changes in the patient's rate, rhythm, and the occurrence of arrhythmias.

Job Responsibility

• Observes cardiac and closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitors on patients.
• Recognizes arrhythmias and obtains documentary strip.
• Reports all arrhythmias to nurse responsible for patient.
• Obtains a baseline strip each shift on all monitored patients.
• Replaces electrode pads, wires, and batteries as needed.
• Obtains EKG's as necessary.
• Assures that all emergency equipment is cleaned and checked.

Job Qualification
