Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Monitor Technician to support the Patient Care Team. You will observe, monitor, and interpret patients’ EKG rhythms from a remote viewing station, assemble and maintain logs, and ensure charts are filed and scanned into EMR promptly.

You will communicate with nursing staff, run errands as needed, and assist with acceptance, registration, and electronic transfer of patients. The role uses fax/copy, Hyland scanner, and pneumatic tube systems.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• 6+ months experience in customer service and computer knowledge.
• Able to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and computer messaging.

Responsibilities

Expected pay for this position is $18.27 - $20.29/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: Monitor Technicians function as a member of the Patient Care Team. They observe, monitor, and interpret patients’ EKG rhythms per remote viewing station. They assemble and maintain logs and are able to recognize and identify cardiac rhythms, alarms, and emergent situations. They are responsible for assembly, maintenance, cleaning, and tracking of equipment. They assemble and maintain patient charts ensuring documents are filed and scanned into EMR in a timely manner. The Monitor Technician communicates with nursing staff and may run errands for the staff upon request. The position performs duties and tasks related to acceptance, registration, and electronic transfer of patients. The Monitor Technician utilizes fax/copy machines, Hyland scanner, and pneumatic tube system.
