Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Identify arrhythmias on patient EKG and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Answer phones, route calls, and provide routine information.
  • Maintain constant surveillance of telemetry units and document pertinent information.
  • Interpret and document cardiac rhythms on patient charts.
  • Provide telemetry strips on patient arrivals and during rhythm changes.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and prepare telemetry equipment for admissions.
  • Assist with patient admissions and transfers to the unit.

The Monitor Technician maintains surveillance of the Franciscan Telemetry Unit, and interprets and documents cardiac rhythms and vital signs. In addition, the Monitor Technician monitors patient care and emergency protocols to ensure individual physician protocols are adhered to.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT


  • Shift: 0600–1230-day shift. There is a every 3rd weekend requirement (Sat and Sun) and holiday rotation.We have modified self scheduling

  • Identify arrhythmias on patient EKG and notify appropriate personnel. Previous telemetry experience or medical/Ems experience preferred but not required
    Must have high functionality with technology

  • Answer telephones and route callers, take messages, and provide routine information to clients or customers.

  • Maintain constant surveillance of telemetry units, and relay and document pertinent information to appropriate personnel.

  • Interpret and document cardiac rhythms.

  • Provide telemetry strips when a new patient arrives, at every eight (8) hours, at change of shift, and/or any time change occur in patient rhythm or condition.

  • Troubleshoot problems with equipment and/or procedures.

  • Prepare telemetry equipment and anticipate patient admissions and transfers to the unit.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Required High School Diploma/GED

  • 1 year EKG Technician Preferred

  • 1 year ECG interpretation Preferred

  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
