Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Telemetry Technician to join the Respiratory Care Department, Heart Station. You will perform EKGs, monitor telemetry, document rhythm changes, and support ICU monitoring and patient care as part of a care team.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient logs, cleaning telemetry transmitters, running rhythm strips at shift start, and entering patient data into the system. Training is provided for required certifications and ongoing competency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months direct patient care experience.
• PCT certification within 3 months of hire (training provided).
• Must pass the dysrhythmia course and maintain competency as telemetry technician.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire (training provided).
• Basic computer skills and strong communication abilities.
• Ability to follow oral instructions and maintain work ethics.
• Proof of legal work authorization in the United States on day one.
• Resume, references, license or certificate, and background checks required.

Job description

• • Provide direct patient care to assigned patients as a team member of the Respiratory Care Department (Heart Station)
• • Perform EKGs throughout the hospital and outpatient clinics
• • Observe telemetry patients and patients on cardiac monitor display screens
• • Document and report changes or abnormalities in patients’ cardiac rhythms
• • Maintain patient report logs
• • Clean telemetry transmitters after each patient use
• • Maintain clear electrocardiogram signals and troubleshoot pattern interference
• • Run a rhythm strip for each patient at the beginning of each shift
• • Monitor ICU patients by closed camera for unsafe behavior
• • Enter patient information in the computer and on the charge sheet
• • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Six (6) months direct patient care related experience
• PCT certified within three (3) months of hire (training provided)
• Must pass the dysrhythmia course and maintain competency as a telemetry technician
• Become CPR certified within the first 90 days of hire (training provided)
• Basic computer skills
• Excellent communication skills, strong work ethics and accountability
• Must complete the dysrhythmia course within 90 day evaluation period and maintain competency as a telemetry technician
• Must have ability to follow oral instructions
• Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
• Required: License or Certificate, list of three professional references, and resume
• Subject to annual TB screening, criminal background check, sex offender registry check, and substance abuse testing
• Must be able to perform the listed physical activities, including lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, and keyboarding
