Description:

Job Purpose or Mission: Observes cardiac monitoring equipment to identify rhythm changes. The role is performed to meet the needs of the age population served, as defined in the department's scope of service.

Job Functions:
  1. Monitoring: Observes cardiac telemetry monitors, documents rhythms, responds to emergencies, and notifies nurses of changes.
  2. Equipment Use: Properly sets up and maintains telemetry equipment, handles malfunctions.
  3. Admissions/Discharges: Communicates patient status, assists with data entry, and manages records.
  4. Other Duties: Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
  • 1-year healthcare setting preferred, monitor technician experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of BRGMC EKG course or similar.
Skills, Licenses, and Knowledge:
  • Computer and clerical skills.
  • HIPAA and safety regulations adherence.
  • EKG Certification preferred but not required.
