Monitor Tech - Telemetry - Anderson Hospital

Job Summary:

The Monitor Tech is responsible for measuring and monitoring EKG waveforms. The Monitor Tech must communicate information effectively and efficiently to nursing staff and clinicians in accordance with hospital policy. Contributing to patient safety and ensuring positive patient outcomes are critical aspects of this role.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide continuous cardiac monitor observation.
  2. Inform nurses of essential information regarding equipment, changes in cardiac rhythm, and patient updates.
  3. Compile patient data and report on a shift-by-shift basis.
  4. Maintain monitoring equipment and notify biomedical staff when equipment needs replacement or repairs.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School Diploma (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Prior EKG or telemetry experience (Preferred, not required)

Training:

  • Successful completion of EKG/arrhythmia exam (Required by end of orientation)
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (Preferred, not required)

Skills & Abilities:

  • Problem-solving skills, basic computer skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional engagement with staff and patients.
  • Basic math skills.
