Description:
The candidate should possess knowledge and ability to provide continuous ECG monitoring, including assessment of EKG strips and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias. Responsibilities include measuring P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations. The role requires troubleshooting skills to recognize monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and seek solutions. Additionally, the technician is responsible for maintaining inventories, supplies, hardware, and telemetry transmitters, ensuring they are in working condition, and promptly reporting malfunctions.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Required: High School diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience Required: None.
Minimum Licensure/Certification Required by Law: None.
Additional Qualifications: Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and basic EKG interpretation. Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) through the American Education Certification Association or Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) through Cardiovascular is preferred.
