Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification preferred and required within 90 days.
  • Completion of basic arrhythmia course required within 3 months.

Job Description:

Monitor Tech - Central Monitoring
** This position will cross train as Unit Secretary/Nursing Assistant/Sitter

7p-7a, holiday rotation

The Monitor Tech monitors and interprets telemetry patient's heart status and notifies nursing staff and providers of any dysrhythmias or abnormal findings and documents such in electronic medical record.

  • Verified and creates snippets each shift, for all inpatient admissions, for any changes in patient rhythm, and for emergency situations, pre, during and post events.

  • Performs clerical duties as related to admissions, discharges and transfers within the telemetry monitoring system.

  • Admits patient to system using correct patient information in correct format.

  • Sends and receives telemetry monitors in-house via pneumatic tube system.

  • Copies and assembles necessary paperwork for in-house and external patient transfers related to telemetry monitoring.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred upon hire and required within 90 days of hire.

  • Successful completion of basic arrhythmia course required within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Monitor Tech certification.

  • Six months experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
